2022 Another Round Around the Sun

2022 went by really fast for us at the Kraków School of Brewing that we didn’t even have time to take stock of everything that happened.

Caught between the organisation of our biannual School of Fermentation Technology, the setup of our brand new Brewing Research centre, the organisation of our new Brewing Ideas Symposium and the consolidation of our brewing workshops programme, we had to push our annual end-of-the-year gathering Piwowarski Kraków to the beginning of 2023.

Here is a short summary of our milestones and highlights of 2022.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to collaborate or receive more information about our activities.

2022: New location

One of the highlights at KSB was the establishment of the our new headquarters in Kraków at ul. Józefa Rostafinskiego 7A.

A strategic location since it places us at a stone’s throw of the Browar Górniczo-Hutniczy with whom we closely collaborate.

Make sure to pay us a visit and see our our new lab and consulting centre.

May 2022: School of Fermentation Technology

May 2022 saw a milestone in the history of the School of Fermentation Technology. The XX edition of a unique (and one of its kind) gathering of the brewing and malting industry in Poland, finally took place after a hiatus of 4 years due to the pandemic lockdown.

Here you have 21 reasons why you should attend the next edition in 2024.

Summer 2022: Brewing training

One of the main elements of KSB’s professional education offer are the brewing trainings, which cover the full range of topics of the brewing process and cater a growing need for concrete and specialised knowledge and skills.

From the observance of quality in raw materials (water, hops and yeast), to the microbiological and physicochemical analysis of beer, our trainings provide theoretical and practical knowledge that help sharpen brewing skills and boost your professional profile.

See our full offer here and remember that we can also cater specific needs with tailored workshops.

Autumn 2022: Beer Sensory Workshops

At KSB we’re all about beer, so our offer wouldn’t be complete without sensory trainings. During the autumn we had the chance to collaborate with Pepsico at the “General into into sensory of beer” and Wisła at the “Jesienne Spotkania Browarników”.

In collaboration with FlavorActiv, KSB offers specialised organoleptic beer evaluation trainings and certifications for brewing professionals, as well as general-knowledge beer tasting sessions for a wider audience.

Either as part of a conference or event within the brewing industry or as an extra-curricular integration activity for any kind of professional/social networking event, we can adapt our offer to groups from 8 up to 80 participants.  Read more about it here.

2022: Brewing Center of Research

KSB is much more than a school of brewing. We have expanded our offer to include laboratory analyses, yeast propagation and other specialised services to support breweries.

A brewing lab at the service of the brewing sector in Poland, we are ready to take up the work so that you can focus on and optimise your brewing production.

Check out our services and contact us if you need any help. Beer analysis, evaluation of expiry date, microbiological quality on site, and many more.

2022: 7th cohort of Dyplomowany Piwowar, post diploma in brewing and malting

There’s more and more graduates of the Dyplomowany Piwowar post-graduate studies at the University of Agriculture in Krakow out there in the brewing industry. We are of course very proud of them and happy to have an amazing group of aspiring brewers in the 7th edition, cohort 2022-23.

This is the longest running element of KSB’s educational offer. Learn more about the post-graduate studies and pre-register for the next cohort here. There are still some places available.

December 2022: Professional Brewers Symposium

Organised by the Polskie Stowarzyszenie Browarów Rzemieślniczych, the Sympozjum Piwowarów Zawodowych took place in December at the Browar Górniczo-Hutniczy in Kraków.

Aleksander Poreda (KSB) participated in the symposium as an invited speaker to talk about the beer aging and its origins at the brewhouse stage. Additional Aleksander took part in the largest beer contest KPR (Craft Beer Contest) as a judge.

We’re very grateful for the invitation.
